There was a period where Sonnar designed lens are pretty sought after. That is also when i picked myself a bargain copy of the Canon 50mm f1.5 ltm lens.
To be frank, i didnt find this lens showing up alot difference compared to others but probably less flare and better contrast. In fact, if i pushed my films, the pictures normally turned out pretty contrasty.
My copy of this lens has stiff aperture and as a result i hardly bring it out for a shoot...until recently, i forced myself to shoot with just this lens alone...
I am having 2nd tots about this lens...

Canon 5cm f2 ltm Collapsible
My first encounter with Canon LTM lenses was thru Bing Ming, also the guy who sold me my first Canon 50mm f1.8 ltm. I had the budget and i wanted something better than a Jupiter 8.
And it was then Maiku who got me a faster f1.4..and slowly i began picking up more 50s...
I have never considered the serenar 50mm f1.9 ltm collapsible. It just didn't stir up my interest as much as i wanted to own a vintage collapsible, instead Summitar was on my list.
Well, im surprised that i actually owned my first Canon Collapsible lens today. The Canon Serenar 5cm f2 ltm collapsible...was indeed a very rare lens. I have forgotten where did i learned about this lens. It wasn't even listed on the Antique camera website or anywhere. From what i understand, only 1329 were made (Feb.1947-Aug.1949) according to R.HOOPER .
I believed Ari who sold me this lens was the same person i contacted many months back. I didnt buy it then, it was still considered a little too over priced.
But recently with the revision of the sale price, i thought its a good time to own it. At least my friend said that if its rare and affordable, why not add to the collection? So i gave up on a Summitar and got this.
The lens is in a really good shape. Nothing much to complain about as well.

Here's a test shot from my Fuji X-E1. Shot wide open..love the soft feel on the image
At f2.8, there isn't really much to complain about this lens. Its performing better than i have expected.
Well at least, for a lens like this, as well as the f2.2 ltm, we are talking more about its rarity compared to performance :)

Trial street walk for pre Europe trip
In anticipation for my coming Europe trip, we decided to do a trial and see if its realistic to walk on the streets with the amount of gears we ideally wish to bring with us.
Today was a great day for the trial as the temperature finally drop after many days of hot and humid weather.
Well, im going to discuss my gear when i start packing but it seems like a 5kg load is unavoidable...
Sharing some pictures from the morning walk today..
The lighting was great this morning
A Polariod shot i took..
Finally settling down for a nice cup of tea at Loysel toys...

Instax Wide 210
After using the Land Polariod for awhile and after getting frustrated with the unreliability of FP getting stuck in the camera everytime (think the amount of Polariod i lost is more than what i have shot), i decided to sell it and replace it with the Instax. I still love Polariods but wanted to use it in a more convenient manner.
This is a copy of Evie's polariod style..:)
I realised that all polariod seems to look nicer under bright sunny day with strong lighting...
Its very addictive to trigger the shutter of the camera and definitely so much more fun to see the pictures instantly.

Thanks to my friend, Huisan who helped me to carry it back from HKG.
