The Lantau Island and Tai O is one of the reason why im going back Hong Kong. I went Disneyland in my last trip and regretted not visiting any of these places. So this round, im determined to cover them.
We went Lantau in the morning and took the crystal cabin cable ferry up the mountain..
Its something that Runningman took in their Hkg episode...
Its quite different from the way i thought it would be, probably some revamping works had been done.
From far...the Great Buddha at the top of the hill.
The hundred steps to the top of the hill.
It just felt so calm and peaceful in this place.
Tai O is just a 20mins drive from Lantau Island..its at the bottom of Lantau if i got it correct...
Its a fishing village...
The first stall that i patronised..the grilled cuttlefish
Currently the fishing lifestyle is dying out. While many residents continue to fish, it barely provides a subsistence income compared to earnings from tourist.
Modern cafe like this is quite popular among the tourists.
Taking a break and enjoying a little peace and culture in Tai O
Its not a very big village but spending a little time walking thru is quite an enjoyment.
The famous temple
If you are ever there, please stay for sunset...what can be more enticing than sunset at a fishing village...
