It was on runningman hongkong episode that i came to know of this place in Hongkong. It s a place where the bird lovers shop for birds and accessories.
Aside from my love for birds, its definitely a nice place that looks good in colors!
Its quite a distance to walk from Mongkok station. I followed the signage and still took me 15 mins to reach..
Its definitely a nice place to visit on a weekend...like a mini bird park!
Okay i dont like to see birds caged...but then again...the unique way to cage the singing birds!
Proud owners hanging their birds for a singing competition.
You can find all sorts of cage here
This short little street inside the marketplace is pretty attractive..
Choosing with care...
One of my favourite species..
And if you think that its easy to choose a pet....this guy has been standing there for quite a while...listening...
Finally, it took me 15 mins there, and another 15 mins to exit. The smell of the place isnt that nice....:)

Streets of Hong Kong
The first trip to Hong Kong was during my first few years on job, i didnt had much savings and so, there was nothing that i planned to bring home...i wasnt even addicted to cameras and all i had was a borrowed ixus 80 (which was one of the best camera then!)
So this round, i brought with me more cash in hope that i will a good deal somewhere...after all..its a crazy place with lots of camera hobbyist.
In order to not carry that much cash on me, the first stop in Hong Kong has to be Champagne court where all the antiques were..
Its a little like our penisular plaza, just that the price of the items were much higher..and with many similarities with the Japanese, they prefer minty items on display.
It was eye feasting here but definitely not a place to bargain. One look at the listed price, will put your idea of a bargain war aside...
Well since there isnt any hope to find a bargain, i decided to just start shooting with what i had along with me.
Oh, i brought along the following gear this trip, nothing much, nothing too fanciful. I was looking at bringing an affordable Fuji XF 18mm f2 back.
Hong Kong was a great place for street shoot and in many film album, you get to see tonnes of street shots and mostly processed gloomy to suit the place.
Something like the below...
& this...and probably you will find tonnes of such sight on the streets of Hong Kong...( these are the only 2 that i took!)
For me, i wish to try out something different this trip. I wanted a more colorful, expressive, different feel made for Hong Kong...its supposed to be a lively and happening city...
The streets full of activities.
Testing out the canon 50mm f1.2
As the night get darker, the people started to flood the streets...the night turned loud and filled with activities...
A Photographer who started a booth by shooting fp3000 polariods...and amazingly, this draws tonnes of crowds queuing for their turn to be photographed. He was using a mamiya press if im not wrong..
Halfway thru, he turned and say to me "Im also a Leica User!"
Checking out the pictures...
The Charming night of Hongkong with all the Lights..
It was a place that was never too late for shopping.

Hong Kong
This is my 2nd visit to Hong kong after 7 years. This country doesnt change much in my memories, and perhaps of the over population and the limited land space, its forced to stay as it is.

Finally my Kaza Deluxe Casing
If you ever ask me to choose between buying a useful camera grip or a beautiful half-case, i will definitely choose the later. I love dressing up my camera. I love leather and I love the attention i get. I'm a practical person despite buying something that is meant more for aesthetics...at least, i wont spend too much on it.
Took around 2 weeks before i received it and i seriously love it...
While going thru the selections of half case for Fuji X-E1 in the market, apparently not much choice, the Kaza handmade Italy cow leather was the one that caught my attention.
I considered carefully before i purchased it.

My First Travel Photo Journal
I have been travelling alot for the past years, but most of the time, the pictures were shared and reviewed over the internet.
While going thru some of the photobooks, i thought, why not create one for myself when my pictures werent that bad either. So after some research and encouragements from friends, i started building one for myself.
It took me quite an effort to narrow down the amount of pictures selected (at least i thought they were all nice), and finally printing a total of 63 pictures only.
I spend a day thinking about the materials that i want and searching a few shops for them.
Took me 2 days to complete it with the help of my younger sis.
63 Pictures of various size - $33
Sketch Book - $17
Pens - $5
Efforts - Alot
Total Cost - Priceless!
I would definitely love to share the book with you!

A beautiful store, bicycle and a beautiful day
I went over on a Sunday to Artfriend to get the materials required for my Photobook...
Along the way, I pass-by this nice concept store which has a tint of Lomography concept in it. Station outside of the store was a nice retro Fixie...
Well, this isnt an old street but little decorations like this makes the surrounding looks different...and it shows that rather than fitting in to the area, changing the theme seems to be a better choice!
Its a nice store thou!

Yangon
While going thru the archival of pictures, i realised that there are some pictures that i have missed out...Amazingly, so of them arent that bad...might be due to the over processing that got me tired and skip off a few folders..
I found some good ones to share here...

Smiley day
Seems like a happy day for street shoots...
This couple was from South Africa and from far, she called me to help her take a family shot....and i asked for 1 on my camera...
Relaxing couple taking a break...from sweden
This granny has a great smile! Extremely friendly...should be a resident nearby!
It just brighten your day, when people share their smiles!
