CT Precisa - with a little patient

It took me a long while to get this set of positive film scanned and processed.
CT Precisa 100(Old version)

I originally wanted to just keep the slides in my cupboard...because of the strong purple hue that this slide throw out...but guess, a little perseverance got me continued to process this..where the end results are shown here...

Bac Ha - A Colorful Market

I chose to shoot Kodak Ektar for this visit to Bac Ha market after Melvin's advice that this place is filled with colors.
And I was glad that i made this decision.
Bac Ha market is a place where the minority people came to make trading every sunday. This market is opened only on weekends for trading...

The local Market, you can find almost any necessity here...as well as food stalls..
They will charge the foreigners much more expensive, so bargaining before sitting down is a must!

Untitled-Scanned-14

They basically traded any animals that they can find...i witness how these people sold dogs and cats for consumption...
Untitled-Scanned-15

This market is also the place where the locals get together...Dont think that these people are push over, i witness how they group together against a stall owner for whatever reasons..

SAPA on films - Will you buy from me, please?

That is what i hear everytime i step out of the mini bus...
Little kids will crowd around you asking you to buy something from them. Their speech is all rehearsed...
"Where are you from?"
"Very nice country"
"Buy from me Please"
"Buy from me later?"

Untitled-Scanned-20

Untitled-Scanned-25

They know what tourist love to take pictures of, so they will pose for you to take some pictures of them and then ask you for some money...
Untitled-Scanned-22

Untitled-Scanned-23

Kids are still kids after all, give them some stickers and they will forget about other things.

This is SAPA

Untitled-Scanned-15

Every morning the adults will get ready and stand by their post waiting for tourist to drop by...

Tourism over the years has somehow changed its people and the place...does the people really reap the benefits from it?
