Fast 50's

Its always rewarding to bring along a fast prime lens with you but how fast or how big is an aperture to be good enough?
The other day while i was at an event, i was glad that i had the Canon 50mm f1.2 ltm lenses with me...
The ambiance light was so low that it was pretty much difficult to shoot, especially with an iso 200 film loaded in my RF.
All these were made possible with the f1.2...guess its good to invest in a copy :)

While we often boast how much details we can get from a roll of 120mm film, the Shanghai GP was quite disappointing. It was a fresh roll of film and yet the film shows signs of expiry.

Well for a little comfort, they look nostalgic in a way. That's film, how bad can it go wrong...:)

Street Survey

I was asked to test a very cool electronic mobile bike at MBS today...It was pretty nicely designed and in fact i wanted to borrowed it under the hot weather for a ride to Millenium...:)

Well, of course i didnt managed to loan it, but i got a portrait in return.

Macro on Film P1

My dad used to be a great macro photographer and has won numerous awards with his macro shots. Hanging in our living room was his favourite butterfly shots. Sadly, he is no longer around with us and i cant share my passion for photography with him anymore.

This was my first experience shooting macro with film and It wasnt easy.

Re skin my Canon P

It took me a long while before i finally found the camera leatherette for my Canon  P.

Well, there isnt any flaws with the current leatherette, it's more of changing it for a new look. Morgan was kind enough after many years of asking to finally cut something for me.

Peeling the leatherette off required some effort and i guess the original leatherette was replaced before. The amout of residue left on the camera was very little.

The "stick on" part requires alot more care and Ben actually helped me with it.

The front part was the hardest given the amount of screws, and knobs.
The leatherette cutting from Morgan was excellent, which fit nicely on the camera without much difficulty.

The completed looked...a refined class of its own.

This skin actually matches both the chrome and black lenses.
