J8 lens in testing

2 weeks ago..i got myself a Jupiter 8 lens from Ukraine and it costed like $40 including shipment to Singapore...
Its a Russian old lens designed back in 1930's where Russia was still called Soviet Unions.

It seems like these old lens tend to have some issues with them and i had myself mentally prepared before buying it..anyway..its just $40...

The moment that i received it, i had Phillip Tay to look through the lens for me...to check if there are any focusing alignment issues...
To my surprise, he said "NO...absolutely perfect"! I really sigh a heave of relief on that spot..before i jumped into joy!

Anyway, given my suspicious behaviour, i wont be convinced till i see the results..
So some test shots i did...
Trix pushed 800 and developed in D76..the best combination ever!

The minimum focusing seems to be off..showing a scale of 0.8m where this lens was supposed to min focus at 1m...anyway..its still spot on!


The handsome me...haha...flare control was bad...


Serving as a portrait lens, definitely sharp enough :)


Overall..i think i got myself a great bargain for a great lens!

Leica M2

It took me a long while to decide that i should just get one for myself...
And so happened that there was a good offer for one in great conditions...

So here it is..my 1958 Leica M2


I didnt bring it out for a shoot yet...not till my accessories arrive...:)

The Airport

Spending most of my time at the Airport, i believed its a beautiful place..
Once a while i will bring along my camera in hope to capture some pictures of the traveler..that passes by Changi

Photoshop CS5

It's almost one year since i have gotten this software installed in my PC..and amazingly, i left it there to fungus...Never really tried it especially since i started playing with negatives which don't really require much photoshop.
I believe the main tool on Photoshop was the ability to do layers...but i didnt really bother to go google some tutorial on how to do it...

Finally today after looking at Shireen's picture posted on FB, I decided to ask her for some guidance in using this software.

She was very kind and patient to guide me thru in steps.

An Old Estate

Pictures were from my newly acquired Bessa R with VC 75mm f2.5. Film used was Agfa APX 100, developed with D76. Both the lens and camera were quite under rated...Well, the pictures speaks for itself here!

This old estate is filled with memories...since 20 years ago when i first moved here.
Nothing much changes here except the neighbours...



I ran home to grab my camera when i saw him at the lift..So EMO!

The traveller

I met this retro looking traveller on my journey home. What caught my attention was his pair of retro old classic leather shoes and the 2 leather briefcase.
